The Ultimate Bridal Beauty Timeline: When to Book Facials, Lashes, and Makeup

Your wedding day is one of the most photographed, emotional, and unforgettable days of your life. Even though the dress may be the centerpiece, your glowing skin, flawless makeup, and fluffy lashes are what bring your bridal vision together.

But here’s the secret: a radiant bridal look doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of preparation, timing, and partnering with the right beauty professionals.

That’s why I created this ultimate bridal beauty timeline

so you’ll know exactly when to schedule facials, makeup trials, and lash appointments to look and feel your absolute best.

6–12 Months Before the Wedding: Build Your Skin Foundation

  • Book professional facials every 4–6 weeks.

Why: Clear, hydrated skin makes makeup application smoother and longer-lasting.

Ask for: Hydrating facials, gentle exfoliation, and treatments that target your personal skin concerns (acne, dryness, dullness).

  • Create a skincare routine at home.

Invest in a good cleanser, moisturizer, SPF, and targeted serum recommended by a pro.

  • Book your bridal makeup artist.

Top artists book fast! Bridal MUAs are booked as early as a year and a half in advanced specially during peak wedding season. Lock in your date early!

3–6 Months Before the Wedding: Test & Trial

  • Schedule your bridal makeup and hair trial.

This is your test run. Bring inspiration photos, wear white (to mimic your dress), and take selfies in natural light. Book your trial on a date where you have an important event like a dress fitting, engagement photoshoot, etc. When booking the bridal makeup and hair trial you should book it first thing in the morning so you can wear it all day.

  • Ask your artist how the products photograph and last throughout the day.

  • Keep facials consistent.

At this stage, focus on maintenance: gentle exfoliation, hydration, and brightening treatments.

1–2 Months Before the Wedding: Details That Matte

  • Book lash extensions or a lash lift.

Trial them first if you’ve never had them you don’t want surprises on your big day. Lashes make a huge difference in photos, adding definition even if you go for a soft, natural makeup look.

  • Confirm your beauty team and double-check times, locations, and confirm the schedule for bridesmaids, moms, or anyone else getting glam.

  • Keep up with skincare.

Avoid trying new products to reduce the risk of irritation.

1–2 Weeks Before the Wedding: The Final Glow

  • Final facial or skin treatment.

Request a gentle hydrating or oxygen facials are perfect at this stage. Avoid harsh peels or extractions.

  • Brow grooming.

Tweeze, wax, or thread your brows about a week before so any redness has time to calm.

  • Final beauty confirmations.

Send your schedule to your bridal party and make sure everyone knows their start time to avoid late fees and delay the bridal timeline.

💍 Wedding Week: Your Glow-Up Countdown

  • 2–3 Days Before: Touch up lashes, moisturize religiously, and get a mani-pedi.

  • Night Before: Drink water, sleep well, and apply your favorite overnight mask.

  • Day Of: Relax, trust your artist, and enjoy being pampered.
